kirsch is a part time potter, part time textile worker and farmer. they make hand-thrown, hand-painted flatware in a community studio space on the olympic peninsula. their work references rhenish pottery, yiddishkeit, and the joys of daily life.
The surface decoration on these pieces reference historical cross stitch patterns, many of which have been carried between cultures and across borders. they find inspiration for international solidarity in the intimacy of these designs - whether on a garment, close to the heart; or on a cup, brought to ones lips. their work is food safe and intended to be used, in daily and ritual practice.
