Wow! This gorgeous pomegranate is a hollow vessel crafted by David Roswell specifically for thisHavdallahKit. David Roswell is a potter and organizer based in Durham, North Carolina. To make this piece, David used locally-dug wild clay, threw each piece on the pottery wheel, and made alterations to the shapes after taking them off the wheel. They were then fired in an electric kiln, glazed, and soda-fired. Read more about David, his offerings and his process here.
This vessel is meant to be used for the “bisamim” or fragrant spices portion of theHavdallahRitual.
There is a hole in the bottom and a cork that closes the hole. Use your own spice mix or fill the vessel with the included lemon scented herbs from the Narrow Bridge Candles gardens. ( see Bisamim in a Muslin bag product to the left.)
